That’s why every Sunday, we close our daycare to host adoption events and every month we partner with a local charity for our Round Up for Rescues program.

The loud noise and vibrations from fireworks can be so intensely terrifying that more pets go missing during this holiday weekend than any other time of year, causing animal shelters to become in-undated with dogs that have dug, chewed, and clawed their way out of their homes and yards to run for cover.

How To Teach Your Dog To Swim

Before you teach a non-swimmer to swim, keep in mind that some dogs may be ill-suitedfor this activity. These include young puppies; elderly or overweight dogs; short-nosed,short-legged, or toy breeds; and dogs with medical conditions. Other dogssimply don’t like the water, and that’s okay— never force a fearful dog to swim. Dogswithout tails may have trouble when learning to swim, since the tail is used as a rudder—but they’ll soon find their own technique to make it work if they like the water.
