Meet Milly Peschelt's Family

Milly is four months old and was found by Jessica when she was eight weeks old. While at a gas station, Jessica went to throw something in the dumpster when fate stepped in. She found a miniature basset hound eating caterpillars behind it. Jessica immediately took her to the vet and found out that this cute little dog had a host of issues including: a hernia, a bladder infection, malnourishment, and dehydration. In fact, the vet also found that she had been surviving outside for approximately three days by eating caterpillars that fell off a nearby bush. When Jessica took her to a local shelter to find out if she had any family, she learned that the shelter would euthanize her if nobody claimed her in three days because of her health condition. Jessica refused to leave her to that chance and took her home. When no one called to claim the dog, she decided to give her a loving home and named her Milly. They have been a family ever since. Jessica and Milly adopted Healthy Spot into their family when a neighbor recommended that she visit a store for their nutritious food options and fair prices. Jessica and Milly adopted Healthy Spot into their family when a neighbor recommended that she visit the Costa Mesa store for their nutritious food options and fair prices.
The food quality and prices brought me in, but the customer service kept me coming back. When I come in, I am not just another customer. I am family, ” said Jessica.
Jessica and Milly love that their Healthy Spot family takes the time to find food and treats that Milly likes instead of just recommending anything.
”Dogs have no choice in the matter. Humans get to make decisions about what food they eat. If a person chooses to eat unhealthy food that is a conscious decision they get to make. Dogs do not have that choice,” said Jessica.
She now feeds Honest Kitchen’s Embark to Milly and she has stopped having tummy problems. When Milly isn’t visiting family at Healthy Spot, she loves to hide her toys and sleep in her bed. Unfortunately, Milly hides her ball then forgets where she hid it. She becomes sad until Jessica finds the ball for Milly. Who could resist this Bassett Hound’s sad face?!
