Stella and Chewy's Stop Sale Order

We want to inform you that one of our product manufacturers, Stella and Chewys, has been issued a stop sale order on a limited number of products by the Maryland Department of Agriculture. A limited amount of Stella and Chewy’s freeze dried chicken patties dog food was tested positive of Listeria monocytogenes for the lot number 111-15 and the use by date of April 23, 2016. There has been no official release by the company but we are in communication with the senior level management to determine the scope of the matter. We have identified that a very limited amount of this lot numbers were in some of our locations. Though the stop sale was limited only to the specified lot number of product, as a precautionary and proactive measure, we have removed all Stella and Chewy’s Chicken Products off the shelves earlier today. This includes all freeze-dried patties, meal mixers, raw food and treats. Consumers that have unopened bags of the chicken patties are urged to keep it sealed, away from people and to throw it away. Those who have opened bags are urged to use disposable gloves and place them in double plastic bags, seal it and throw it away. While this pertains to only the limited lot, we fully guarantee our products. If you feel uncomfortable with any Stella and Chewy’s product purchased at Healthy Spot, we will gladly provide you a refund or exchange. If you threw away a Stella and Chewy’s bag purchased at Healthy Spot, we can provide you a product exchange or refund. This company provides a healthier alternative to the traditional products and has never had a recall or other product integrity issues in its history.
