Healthy Spot: A Year In Review!

We had an incredible 2014 and feel so grateful that you, the Healthy Spot community, rallied to support our endeavors! You came along for the ride as we’ve continued to grow and joined us as we celebrated at numerous events throughout the year. In short, 2014 was a blast! Here are a few highlights from this past year that have our tails a waggin’: With your generosity we donated over $32,000 to our Round Up For Rescues partners. You all rock! Our 2014 round up beneficiaries were the Animal Advocate Alliance, Wolf Mountain Sanctuary, Forte Animal Rescue, I.C.A.R.E Dog Rescue, Coastal German Shepherd, Fix Nation, Take Me Home, Bill Foundation, Wags and Walks, Rescue Train, NKLA and Bill Foundation. We spread the Healthy Spot love with two new store locations! Costa Mesa- Opened January 2014. Our first ‘Spot’ in Orange County! Long Beach- Opened May 2014. Our 5th ‘Spot’! Joining these two communities has been nothing short of amazing. A huge thank you to our clients for your continued support and a warm welcome to the new members of our Healthy Spot family! Team Healthy Spot packed up and headed to Las Vegas last July to attend SuperZoo, an industry trade show and competition. Our grooming team came in hot at the Supershow, with David and Cynthia bringing home wins! Healthy Spot Grooming Director, Tricia, had a moment in the spotlight as Groomer TV filmed her for a behind-the-scenes look at the show. Check out all the action here:
This summer, we waived our Pride flag high as we took to the streets to participate in the LA Pride Parade and Long Beach Pride Festival. We were proud to support the LGBT community. We cheers’ed with many of you all at our monthly Yappy Hours and are so thankful that you all invited us into your homes for our Resident Events. We headed to the Rose Bowl to run, walk, shop and adopt at Race for the Rescues. Healthy Spot was proud to be a 2014 sponsor! Team Healthy Spot rallied at Best Friends Animal Society’s Strut Your Mutt. The annual fundraising dog walk, fun run, and festival culminated in a day of fun us and our four-legged friends. Our Summer Pool Pawty made a huge splash in Costa Mesa. Dogs of all shapes and sizes came out (donning their summer best) to swim, sniff and play. Healthy Spot Bully Sticks entered our stores! We created a line of healthy, artisanal chews, which are cooked in brick ovens and sourced from free range, grass fed cattle. We worked with our friends at Penn+Pooch to create the first line of Healthy Spot x Penn+Pooch pet clothing. All clothing is made in Los Angeles and sports our very own Spot on the label. Our dog Spot made his way onto LED Collar Lights (Spot Lits). These battery-powered lights clip securely to your pet's collar, keeping him or her stylish and visible at all hours of the day and night. We entered a one-year partnership with The Honest Kitchen and TreePeople to plant trees and support important environmental initiatives in Los Angeles’s urban areas. Every time you purchased a ten-pound box of The Honest Kitchen’s dog food at one of our store locations in 2014, you directly supported TreePeople’s work in greening our city. To celebrate the partnership, we held a volunteer tree-care event at Pan Pacific Park in West Los Angeles on October 25. Volunteers and their pets had a blast tending to the park’s 28 trees! 2015 is looking pretty Purrfect! Where can you spot us next? Studio City! On January 24, 2015 we’ll open open our doors on Ventura Blvd with a massive Grand Opening Pawty. Join us as we cut the ribbon and join the Studio City Community!
